Reflect (poem)

Just as water reflects the face,

And the world is a canvas of your art,

So one’s life, reflects the heart.

Be at rest once more, o my soul,

For when your spirit speaks to me,

And your love, it sets me free,

May I mention that all I see,

Is your graceful ability, and your un-rough melody,

That could never hinder me.

Through you I smile. Did I mention I smile?

Did I mention I cry, every once in a while?

Did I mention you healed me?

From all the energies and miseries,

That were never my meant-to-be’s.

So as the Orion is daily tied,

I will hold you close to me, like the seal on my neck,

Just like the tears you’ve bottled, which we have cried.

I used to always wonder, who fathered the rains and made paths for the thunderstorms.

Who enriched the dirt with the nutrients of waters?

And called us home as sons and daughters.

Some people run on hard ground, while other’s set afar in sail.

Yet in our time, we each learn to leave our wanderings behind.

And what I learnt to see…..is your love…

Your love that dances under stars of indifference,

To all the barriers that make us different…
