Let it Snow....

(A poem dedicated to my mother and my little sister Eli. My mother always loved the snow...Perhaps that explains the dream I had of her. She was a force- and still is...)

I remember a dream,

Where you came to me

But then you had to leave,

‘Cause you said,

“It’s snowing in heaven”

Now Eli’s turned 7

But I still can’t get

Your words out of my head

I know you love the snow

And I’ve learned to grow

But just so you know

It’s not easy down here

I’m still searching for meaning

It still hurts like hell

I see you when I’m dreaming

But can’t remember your smell

Now I’m far away

From the beaches we walked through

Need that more everyday

You’re the one that I talked to

I know I’ve gotten older

But the water’s grown colder

I wish you got to hold her

But I know she’ll be okay...

And I can only imagine

The life that you’re having

The people you’ve met,

Who like you, couldn’t stay

And I can only imagine

The light that you’re there in

The stories you’re carrying

For when we meet again

So till then…

Let it snow,

Let it snow,

Let it snow…
