I walk like you

I talk like you

And when I don't know what to do,

I fail like you

I'm frail like you

The same shaped eyes that you saw the world through

I'm a fien for the things I long like you

I kick the dirt I trod like you

I lost a parent young, like you did

And I cry the rivers crossed by you

You saw me through

Your prayers could wither any storm

And now that you're where you belong

I take you with me on every journey

And I laugh all wild, just like a child

For the glory of the day is in your soul

And since she went away, I tell every soul

My mama was tough

A slave to the grind

With no woman in need ever left behind

She'd grow the fruit, but eat the rind

My mama was love

And so...I laugh

I laugh all wild, just like a child

Her child
